Quick Update

I'm currently working on CancerWars, I have completed the games main screens and I am in the process of bringing together the core game based partly on my prototype (it's nice particle effects thanks to TimelineFX) and hopefully a nice responsive fun environment...

Anyway the game is definitly in flux at the moment it's going in a much more cartoon style direction, which hopefully should make it more fun to play, had a few technical hitches and thankfully I think I have those niggles nailed down now, so I just need to pull together some great but simple game mechanics, iterate lots, polish even more and release (but don't hold your breath).

You may have noticed I've hired Iggy to help out he's got the job of trying to motivate people to play my games, it's early days but fingers crossed he'll chase people down and get them to surrender to a fun gaming experience from Arowx.com

He has mentioned that he would like a game of his own but Zombie games are just so common these days, maybe if he can think of something more original...

I have offered him a bit part in Attack of the Trampolining Zombie Gnomes but he doesn't want to be typcast and says he doesn't like ankle biters. ;0)

Hi Just a quick update, got a new Logo...

I've setup a gift shop with Cafe Press if you would like a new T-Shirt, Mug, Teddy Bear or Thong with a cool logo check out http://www.cafepress.co.uk/arowx.

Yet again I'm off doing a new prototype, Cancer Wars http://cancerwarsgame.org, the idea is a game for free with a donate to charity option, still a work in progress but it's something that has effects a lot of people so I hope to get it working and out there at the moment it has been developed in BlitzMax but I'm thinking of moving to Flash or Unity3D so it can be played via a browser (lower friction) and therefore have a larger impact and hopefully raise some funds for charity.

Check out the video for an idea of it's progress to date.

Save the Silly Earthlings is still simmering away, I have the idea that it could be quite a cool game but seems to have become stranded on a false evolutionary peak, I think I'll just have to launch it and try and get some feedback.

Speaking of feedback I think flash or unity and browser based games are where I'm going to be able to get the best feedback cycle, although there is the problem of people stealing your game and publishing it on their site, not sure if unity has this problem will have to look into it.

So maybe lite versions online and deluxe versions for download, hmm!

Lots to do, revamp the website with the new logo and tie it into my facebook pages, completing my games to a lite or beta version and releasing them.

Speaking of which I have a facebook group for beta testers http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=63634985309

On a more personal note got some serious backache so not getting a lot done when it tightens up, think it's just that I've let my fitness drop to the couch potato/desk bound indie developer level and my mass increase too much ;o)
